T-Birds Office Closed Tuesday July 31 Out Of Respect For Kent Police Officer Diego Moreno Memorial Service
Officer Moreno was killed in the line of duty Sunday, July 22
KENT, July 30, 2018 — The Seattle Thunderbirds office at accesso ShoWare Center will be closed on Tuesday, July 31, out of respect for the Memorial Service for Kent Police Officer Diego Moreno who was killed in the line of duty on Sunday, July 22.
The accesso ShoWare Center will be hosting the Memorial Service for Officer Moreno on Tuesday, July 31. The service starts at 1pm.
The entire T-Birds and accesso ShoWare Center organizations grieve with Officer Moreno’s family and colleagues at the Kent Police Department. We are saddened by the tragic loss of Officer Moreno’s life.
Officer Moreno worked numerous T-Birds games over the past seasons and was known by members of the T-Birds and accesso ShoWare Center staffs.
Our thoughts and prayers are with Officer Moreno’s family and colleagues in this difficult time.
Prior to the memorial service, there will be an official procession of police vehicles through Kent, starting around 11:15am. The public is invited to view the procession on Fourth Avenue between Willis and James Streets on their way to accesso ShoWare Center.
Community members attending the Memorial Service should plan to arrive at accesso ShoWare Center by noon. There will be limited parking available, particularly downtown, at the Lincoln Park & Ride, the Sounder garage at Kent Station and City Hall. There will also be limited street parking available throughout downtown. We encourage attendees to carpool or walk to the event, if possible.
