Jostens Delivers Seattle Thunderbirds Western Hockey League Championship Rings
Iconic handcrafted rings will be worn at reception at Executive Residence of Governor Jay Inslee
Kent, September 23, 2017 – Jostens, the leading provider of high-end custom jewelry for professional sports teams, has delivered the 2017 Seattle Thunderbirds Western Hockey League Championship Rings. The team and organization will be wearing the rings on Monday, September 25, at the reception to honor the team at the Executive Residence of Washington State Governor Jay Inslee.
“Jostens is honored to partner with the Seattle Thunderbirds to create a championship ring that celebrates the team’s historic first championship,” said Mike Annis of Jostens.
“The rings Jostens created are a great representation of the special season we had to win the WHL Championship,” said T-Birds Vice President Colin Campbell. “We will be able to look at these rings and remember what an awesome experience it was for our organization and fans to win the WHL Championship.”
Every detail of the ring was considered in telling the story of this incredible team as well as the history of the franchise. The 57 hand-set stones on the top of the ring were designed to represent different elements of the franchise.
Surrounding the top of the ring, there are 40 stones representing the 40 years of Thunderbirds Hockey and an additional 16 stones to represent each of the playoff victories that ultimately resulted in the championship. Accenting the top of the trophy is a single marquise stone representing the first-ever WHL Championship in the franchise’s history.
Finishing the top of the ring is one-of-a-kind custom blue corundum stone set with a crest that features the WHL Trophy and the Thunderbirds logo raised and polished showcasing incredible craftsmanship.
The left side of the ring features the recipient’s name set above the ‘NO WEAK LINKS’ slogan that was the theme of the 2016-17 season and is finished at the bottom with the recipient’s name or title.
On the right side of the ring, the team pays homage to the city and the fans with the iconic Seattle Space Needle and Mount Rainier. The WHL Trophy sits in front of the Seattle Space Needle which is meant to represent that the team has brought the Championship home to Seattle.
The ring sides also feature a beautiful satin finish with a hockey skate mark inlay in the background.
The Thunderbirds have also collaborated with Jostens to create a collection of jewelry made specifically for our loyal fans. Information on the this program can be found at: http://www.jostenschamp.com/seattlethunderbirds.html or by visiting the team store at http://store.seattlethunderbirds.com/
