Four T-Birds Make NHl Central Scouting Final Rankings
Noebels is #49, Jacobs is #61, Lockhart is #68 and Elliot is #133
KENT, April 11, 2011 — Four Seattle Thunderbirds were named today in the NHL Central Scouting Final Rankings of North American players eligible of the 2011 NHL Draft.
Left wing Marcel Noebels, from Tonisvorst, Germany, is ranked number 49. Noebels appeared in 68 games with the T-Birds last season and had 56 points 28 goals and 26 assists. He was a member of Team Germany at the World Junior Championships in Buffalo from December 26 to January 5.
Center Colin Jacobs from Coppell, Texas, is ranked number 61. Jacobs had 44 points on 22 goals and 22 assists in 68 games last season. Jacobs took part in the Home Hardware CHL/NHL Top Prospects game on January 19 in Toronto. This game is an annual showcase event for the top NHL prospects playing in the CHL. Jacobs had an assist in the game.
Center Luke Lockhart, from Burnaby, British Columbia, is ranked number 68. Lockhart had 21 goals and 27 assists for 48 point in 71 games last season
Left wing Mitch Elliot, from Prince George, British Columbia, is ranked number 133. Elliot appeared in all 72 games last season and had 13 points on five goals and eight assists.
Noebels, Jacobs and Lockhart have all accepted invitations to take part in the 2011 NHL Draft Combine in Toronto from May 29 to June 4 . The Draft Combine consists of physical performance tests, medical exams and NHL team interviews.
Each hockey season NHL Central Scouting puts out three sets of rankings for first year draft eligible players from North America and Europe. The Preliminary rankings come out in October. The Mid-Term Rankings come in January. Final Rankings come out after the NHL regular season ends.
