“I’m really looking forward to joining the Silvertips organization,” said Murphy. “Everything about the team is first-class. I’m optimistic about the season and I’m looking forward to working with the players.”
Murphy spent the last six seasons as head equipment manager for the AHL’s San Jose Barracuda. He also was head equipment manager for the 2016-17 Commissioner’s Cup-winning Macon Mayhem of the SPHL.

“We’re excited to have Mike join our organization,” commented Silvertips general manager/head coach Dennis Williams. “He comes from a wealth of experience at the professional level. He’s organized and detailed. I think he’ll do a tremendous job preparing our athletes for the next level.”
Mike Murphy graduated from the University of New England in 2013, as well as earning a master’s degree in sports administration from Canisius College in 2016.
He becomes the fifth head equipment manager in Silvertips history.
