TIPS WIN » Another One, Another Win
EVERETT, Wash. – Zach Ashton scored his first two goals as an Everett Silvertip while Dustin Wolf kept the Spokane Chiefs off the scoreboard for the first 58 minutes, helping the Silvertips again crush the Chiefs in a 6-1 victory in WHL action on Friday at Spokane Arena.
The Silvertips won for the fourth straight time, outscoring the Chiefs 11-1 in 24 hours while extending their lead to 11 points for first place in the U.S. Division with eight games left. Austin Roest, with father Stacy in attendance, notched first star honors with a goal and an assist and the Tips never trailed, scoring the first six goals of the game.
Wolf’s victory was the 100th of his WHL career.

Cole Fonstad wired a snap shot from the right circle for a 1-0 lead at 9:48 of the first period, the first of a pair of Tips power play goals. Wolf kept the Chiefs at bay with a huge two-on-one save, stopping an Adam Beckman to Eli Zummack post-to-post pass early in the second period which set the table for three goals by the Tips in the middle frame.
Ashton’s right point shot snuck through traffic for a 2-0 lead and his first goal as a Silvertip at 10:33 of the second, followed by Roest’s tape-to-tape feed to Hofer at the left circle for a 3-0 lead, who buried a wrist shot upstairs on starter Mason Beaupit at 13:24. Campbell then stashed a rebound power play goal at the front of the net with 1:48 left in the period, and the Tips outshot Spokane 14-6 to strengthen their command of the game.
A pair of third period goals by the Tips made the game academic, with Roest following up a blocked shot in the slot and roofing his second goal of the year for a 5-0 lead with 14:40 left, chasing Beaupit for Manny Panghli, making his WHL debut.
Ashton greeted him with a high rising point shot that snuck under the crossbar for a 6-0 lead and his second goal of the game with 3:10 left in the game.
Cordel Larson salvaged the only Spokane goal for the two game series with 1:58 left.
