Silvertips Recall, Activate AP Forward Matthew Ng
EVERETT, Wash. – The Everett Silvertips, seven-time U.S. Division champion and two-time Western Conference champion of the Western Hockey League, and general manager Garry Davidson announced today that forward Matthew Ng (“ING”) has been recalled and placed on the Silvertips active roster with an affiliated player status.
The 2004-born forward has completed a mandatory quarantine period to join the Silvertips on the ice and will wear jersey #19. This season, Ng suited up for Culver Military Academy’s 16U program and earned 24 points (9g-15a) in 24 games.
The native of Cupertino, Calif. is a product of the San Jose Junior Sharks program and last season completed his first year at the midget level with Culver ranking third on the program in points (36) while tying for the lead in assists (25) in 36 games. Ng was selected by the Silvertips in the
Ng was selected by the Silvertips in the fifth round (100th overall) of the 2019 WHL Draft and signed his WHL standard player agreement with the Silvertips on May 26, 2020, when he was fifth all-time in Junior Sharks history at the Bantam AAA level in points (66), goals (33), and assists (33).
Ng joins Dustin Wolf (Gilroy) as two Silvertips players born in the United States, originally from California.

ABOUT THE SILVERTIPS AND THE NHL
A total of 19 players have suited up in an Everett Silvertips jersey and advanced to play in the National Hockey League, since the Silvertips joined the WHL in 2003-04. Entering this season, the Silvertips have elevated 27 players to be selected by teams in the NHL Entry Draft, including eight over the previous three seasons. By the end of the 2019-20 season, all three Silvertips in the 20-year old category earned NHL entry level contracts: Bryce Kindopp (Anaheim), Wyatte Wylie (Philadelphia), and Jake Christiansen (Columbus). The Seattle Kraken, an expansion franchise scheduled to play 30 miles away from Everett at Climate Pledge Arena, will make their NHL debut in the 2021-22 season.
