OLYMPICS: Artyom Minulin named to ROC roster
EVERETT, Wash. — Everett Silvertips alum Artyom Minulin has officially been named to the Russian Olympic men’s ice hockey roster for the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics.
Minulin, 23, played 51 games as a member of the Everett Silvertips in the 2018-19 season, netting a goal with 17 assists. He added four more helpers in 10 Western Hockey League Playoff games. The first three seasons of Minulin’s WHL tenure were spent in Swift Current with the Broncos, where he won a WHL Championship in 2018 by besting the Silvertips in the Final.
Minulin was acquired from the Broncos in a trade, which sent the Russian defenseman and a 2021 8th-round pick (which the Silvertips used to select Lynden Donald-Gorman this past December) for defenseman Alex Moar.
Since his junior hockey days, the Tyumen, Russia native has been playing in the KHL with Metallurg Magnitogorsk. He has racked up 17 points in 120 career KHL games.
The Everett Silvertips now have five representatives at the 2022 Beijing Winter Olympics, as Minulin now joins Dominik Bittner (’11-’12, Germany), Landon Ferraro (’10-’11, Canada), Mirco Müller (’12-’14, Switzerland) and Tyler Dietrich (’03-’05, assistant coach, Canada) at the Games.
