GAME RECAP: Tips hold firm for 4-3 win over Prince Albert
EVERETT, Wash. — The Everett Silvertips held the line with a strong defensive effort late, as they hung on to defeat the Prince Albert Raiders 4-3 at Angel of the Winds Arena Wednesday night.
Teague Patton opened the scoring for Everett 8:55 into the first period, splitting the defense and wiring a wrister home for his fifth of the season. Austin Roest rifled a powerplay one-timer in for his 12th of the year at 13:07. Prince Albert halved the deficit at 15:21 as Niall Crocker bested Ethan Chadwick, sending the game into the first intermission with a 2-1 Everett lead.
Carter Bear netted his fifth goal of the month and eighth of the season 2:17 into the second period to restore a multi-goal advantage for the Silvertips, followed by a Jesse Heslop wrist shot at 14:00 for a 4-1 lead.
Sloan Stanick brought the Raiders back to within striking distance with a pair of goals- one at 15:21 in the second, one at 14:28 in the third period. A delay of game penalty taken by Everett at 19:13 set up a 6-on-4 powerplay for Prince Albert for the final 47 seconds. Timely saves by Ethan Chadwick- coupled with four blocked shots in the final 90 seconds by defenseman Eric Jamieson- held the Raiders at bay for a 4-3 final.
Chadwick finished with 23 saves on 26 shots for his fifth win of the year.
