GAME RECAP: Silvertips pitch eighth shutout of season as Holt blanks Chiefs 3-0
SPOKANE, Wash. — The Everett Silvertips turned in their eighth clean sheet of the season Tuesday night, blanking the Spokane Chiefs 3-0 at Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena. Braden Holt stopped 20 shots in the shutout, his fourth of the campaign.
Alex Swetlikoff opened the scoring for the Silvertips at 4:33 in the first, banging in a rebound for his 26th tally of the season. Austin Roest extended the lead to 2-0, stuffing in his 11th goal of the campaign. Aidan Sutter and Hunter Campbell registered assists on both Swetlikoff’s and Roest’s goal.
Roest would later set up Matthew Ng for Ng’s eighth goal of the year at 16:52 in the third period, officially putting the game out of reach.
The Silvertips will visit the Vancouver Giants Friday night in Langley for a 7:30 p.m. puck drop. They return to Everett Saturday night for a second matchup with Vancouver, featuring the third installment of the Great Small Dog Races presented by Sam’s Cats and Dogs. Then on Sunday, the Silvertips rematch the Chiefs with a special flag giveaway and the return of Lincoln’s Mascot Mania.
