GAME RECAP: Silvertips pick up 6-3 win over Spokane on home ice
EVERETT, Wash. — A second period surge lifted the Silvertips over the Spokane Chiefs at Angel of the Winds Arena Friday night, taking a 6-3 victory.
Carter Streek opened the scoring just 1:06 into play, winning a board battle behind the Silvertips’ net and sneaking a wrist shot through for a Spokane lead. Michal Gut would respond with a tally at 18:24 in the first, pouncing on a rebound in front of Chiefs netminder Manny Panghli for his 12th of the season.
Spokane would reclaim the lead in the second period on the powerplay, as Ty Cheveldayoff banged in a rebound in front. Everett struck minutes later with a powerplay goal of their own, as Jackson Berezowski redirected a Niko Huuhtanen slap-pass for his 37th goal of the campaign.

Ben Hemmerling seized the lead for the Silvertips at 17:10, wiring a low wrist shot past Panghli thanks to heavy traffic in front provided by Huuhtanen and Alex Swetlikoff. Just 22 seconds after Hemmerling’s seventh of the year, Austin Roest re-directed a shot from the boards to pick up his 10th goal, providing Everett with a 4-2 lead at the end of two.
Niko Huuhtanen added to the lead in the third period, dragging the toe and wiring a wrist shot home.
Though Reagan Wiles would contribute a powerplay goal for Spokane late in the third, the Silvertips would put it away with an empty-netter as Berezowski fed Huuhtanen for his 30th goal of the year.
Braden Holt stopped 30 of 33 in the win, his 21st.
With a secondary assist on Gut’s first-period goal, Silvertips co-captain Ronan Seeley reached 100 career WHL points.
