GAME RECAP: Silvertips bested by T-Birds 4-1 in Kent; an update on Zellweger
KENT, Wash. — The Seattle Thunderbirds limited the Everett Silvertips to just 18 shots on goal in a 4-1 win at Accesso Showare Center Sunday night.
Lukas Svejkovsky opened the scoring for Seattle 6:16 into the first period, converting on a rebound in front of Everett netminder Koen MacInnes for his 35th goal of the season.
Jordan Gustafson extended the Seattle lead 13:21 into the second period, lifting a wrist shot over MacInnes’ shoulder for his 23rd tally. Though Austin Roest would pull the Tips within one late in the third period, a pair of empty net goals by Nico Myatovic and Reid Schaefer sealed the deal for Seattle in their regular season home finale.
Silvertips defenseman Olen Zellweger was taken off the ice on a stretcher following a high hit 12:26 into the first period. Zellweger received medical attention and was cleared to re-join teammates in the arena at the conclusion of the game.
