GAME RECAP: Hemmerling nets hat trick as Tips rout Royals 8-1
VICTORIA, B.C. — Ben Hemmerling erupted for his first career hat trick in a 8-1 rout of the Victoria Royals at Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre Friday night.
Rylan Pearce opened the scoring 1:45 into play, slipping a low shot through the five-hole of Braden Holt for his first career WHL goal. Hemmerling followed up at 18:28 with his first of three on the evening to give the Tips a 2-0 lead after one. Everett outshot the Royals 16-3 in the opening frame.
Just because the puck and Ben crossed the line, doesn't mean the @WHLsilvertips get credit for two goals.

Everett tacked on two more goals in the second period. Jesse Heslop rifled a one-timer home for his first of the season while on the powerplay, followed by an Eric Jamieson wrister from the blueline for a 4-0 lead after two. The middle frame was another dominant one for puck possession, as the Tips outshot the Royals 19-4.
Hemmerling blasted his second of the night on the powerplay at 4:06. Though Dawson Pasternak scored the lone goal for the Royals, Everett got right back to work as Hemmerling capped off his hat trick with a slick 3-on-1 rush at 8:20 in the third.
Dominik Rymon and Cade Zaplitny would both net breakaway goals for an 8-1 final. Ethan Chadwick turned aside 22 of 23 for the win.
