Austin Roest signs entry-level contract with Nashville Predators
EVERETT, Wash. — Everett Silvertips forward Austin Roest has officially signed a three-year, entry-level contract with the Nashville Predators of the National Hockey League beginning in 2024-25.
Roest, an ’04-born center from Coldstream, B.C., was originally selected by the Predators 175th-overall in the sixth round of the 2023 NHL Draft. His 2023-24 campaign has been widely successful, logging 31 goals and 28 assists in 54 games played while serving as co-captain with fellow NHL draftee Ben Hemmerling (Vegas Golden Knights; signed).
“I’m really excited to get things going in Nashville,” Roest commented. “It’s an amazing organization with great development staff and a great general manager. It’s a crazy atmosphere in Nashville. Both they and [AHL affiliate] Milwaukee are used to winning so it’s exciting for sure.”
Roest has accumulated 79 goals and 98 assists over the course of 196 WHL regular season games. He currently sits one goal shy of tying his career-high for a single-season. Roest is coming off a breakout 2022-23 campaign, in which he netted 32 goals and 46 assists in 60 games, earning U.S. Division Second-Team All-Star honors.
