ALUMNI REPORT: November 2023 Edition

NHL

• Carter Hart (2013-18) is off to a strong start in Philly once again. Entering his sixth season as the Flyers’ backstop, he currently sits at 4-3-0 with a .913 save percentage and a 2.52 goals-against average. He recorded a 26-save shutout against the Vancouver Canucks on Oct. 17- the sixth clean sheet of his career.
• Connor Dewar (2015-19) netted two goals with an assist in four games to start his third season with the Minnesota Wild. One of those two goals came shorthanded, a skill that the Pitbull has refined since turning pro.
• Radko Gudas (2009-10) is now with the Anaheim Ducks, his fifth team in 12 NHL seasons. The Butcher is a big reason why the Ducks have turned things around from a lottery team to a legitimate contender in the Pacific Division, starting the year 7-5-0.

• Mitch Love (2003-05) is in his first season as an assistant coach for the Washington Capitals. He is the two-time reigning AHL Coach of the Year following a highly successful stint with the Stockton Heat/Calgary Wranglers.
• Noah Juulsen (2013-17) has appeared in three games with the Vancouver Canucks this season, recording one assist. This is Juulsen’s seventh season as a pro.

AHL

• Olen Zellweger (2019-23) has begun his pro career much how anyone would anticipate him to- a three game point streak, including his first pro goal on Oct. 20. The 20-year-old defender is in his first full season with the San Diego Gulls, AHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, and a call-up to the big club doesn’t seem too far off in the horizon.

• Ryan Hofer (2021-23) is in his first pro season with the Hershey Bears, affiliate of the Washington Capitals. He picked up his first AHL point with an assist on Oct. 28 vs Lehigh Valley.
• Jujhar Khaira (2013-14) signed a two-way deal with the Minnesota Wild in the offseason, and has been putting the work in with AHL Iowa. With six assists through seven games, Khaira earned a brief call-up earlier in October. Expect him to be one of the first called up should Minnesota need injury replacements throughout the season.
• Dustin Wolf (2017-21) is doing Dustin Wolf Things with the Calgary Wranglers once again. He’s begun his third pro season with a 5-1-0 record, a .924 save percentage and a 2.34 goals-against average. Wolf is a two-time reigning AHL Goaltender of the Year and the reigning AHL MVP.
• Garrett Pilon (2017-18), fresh off winning a Calder Cup with the Hershey Bears, signed a two-way deal with the Ottawa Senators over the summer. He’s off and running with the AHL Belleville Senators, logging three goals and two assists through six games played.
• Jake Christiansen (2015-20) is off to his usual torrid scoring pace with the Cleveland Monsters. The Columbus Blue Jackets defensive prospect has eight points in nine games to start the year, including two multi-point performances already. Having appeared in 24 NHL games last year, it’s only a matter of time before Christiansen has a full-time NHL gig.
• Alex Swetlikoff (2021-22) made about as strong a first impression as one can make at the AHL level, scoring in back-to-back games in his Henderson Silver Knights debut. The 22-year-old center logged 50 points in 68 games with the ECHL’s Savannah Ghost Pirates last season, and has been steadily climbing the ranks of the Vegas Golden Knights’ system since.
• Riley Sutter (2015-19) is in his fifth season of pro hockey with the Hershey Bears, where he won the 2023 Calder Cup with fellow former Silvertip Garrett Pilon. He appeared in three NHL preseason games with the Washington Capitals, registering a game-winning goal plus two assists before being re-assigned to the AHL.
• Wyatte Wylie (2016-20) has joined the Ontario Reign, AHL affiliate of the Los Angeles Kings, for his fourth pro season. He previously spent three years with the Lehigh Valley Phantoms, affiliates of the Philadelphia Flyers.
• Bryce Kindopp (2016-20) scored in his Rockford Ice Hogs debut on Oct. 13. The former Silvertips captain signed with the Blackhawks’ AHL affiliate after three seasons in the Anaheim Ducks’ system.
• Gage Goncalves (2018-21) has recorded points in seven of his first eight games this year with the Syracuse Crunch. The 22-year-old Tampa Bay Lightning prospect continues to develop well, having collected 54 points in 71 games last year.
• Byron Froese (2008-10) was a black ace for the Vegas Golden Knights as they marched to their first Stanley Cup victory. Back with AHL Henderson for his 13th pro season, he has five goals and two assists through 11 games played thus far.
• Montana Onyebuchi (2016-18) signed an NHL deal with the Arizona Coyotes in the offseason, though he is beginning this campaign with the AHL Tucson Roadrunners. He has appeared in just one game- accruing 12 penalty minutes.

ECHL

• Jackson Berezowski (2018-23) earned ECHL Rookie of the Month with his stellar streak with the Newfoundland Growlers. Berezowski logged three goals and nine assists in his first six games as a pro, including a four-point debut and an overtime winner. He currently is in the Toronto Maple Leafs’ farm system.

• Ronan Seeley (2018-22) had a solid rookie season with the AHL Chicago Wolves in 2022-23, registering four goals and 21 assists in 70 games played. Since the Carolina Hurricanes have no AHL affiliate, they have re-assigned him to the ECHL Norfolk Admirals to start this season.
• Shane Harper (2005-10) is officially returning for his 14th pro season, captaining the ECHL Adirondack Thunder (New Jersey Devils affiliate). He led the team with 22 goals and 53 assists in 65 games last season.
• Zack Andrusiak (2018-19) is back with the now-New York Rangers affiliate Cincinnati Cyclones for a fifth pro season. He led the team in scoring last season with 73 points in 63 games played. He’s off to a similarly strong start this year with nine points in his first six games.
• Aidan Sutter (2019-23) made his pro debut on Nov. 4 skating for the Florida Panthers’ ECHL affiliate, the Florida Everblades.
• Brayden Low (2012-15) is off to a point-per-game start as an alternate captain with the Orlando Solar Bears with six points in six outings.
• Gianni Fairbrother (2016-21) was acquired via trade by the Colorado Avalanche this offseason and has been assigned to the ECHL Utah Grizzlies. He has two assists in four games.
• Reece Vitelli (2017-19) is in his second pro season in the Arizona Coyotes system. He currently skates for the Atlanta Gladiators, where he has collected 14 points in nine outings.

EUROPE

• Niko Huuhtanen (2021-22) continues to wow in the Finnish Liiga, opening the season with six goals and eight assists in 17 games played for Jukurit. The 20-year-old Tampa Bay Lightning prospect has also been chosen to represent the Finnish National Team at the Karjala Cup.

• Matt Fonteyne (2013-18) is back in the pro scene, having graduated from the University of Alberta as a 2022 USports champion and a 2023 University Cup All-Star. He is now in the Swiss league with EHC Winterthur, where he has 11 points in eight games.
• Peter Mueller (2005-07) continues what has been a yearly point-per-game pace with HC Vítkovice in Czechia, opening his 17th professional season with 13 points in 16 games played.
• Cole Fonstad (2019-21) has signed in Germany with the Straubing Tigers after a 15-goal, 30-point season in the AHL with the Cleveland Monsters. He has 13 points in 18 games thus far.
• Dominik Bittner (2011-12) signed with EHC München for his 12th professional season in his native Germany.
• Tim Metzger (2022-23) is currently playing with Lausanne U20 in the Swiss U20-Elit league. He also appeared in his first pro game with HCV Martigny.
• Mirco Müller (2012-14) is 21 games into his 10th pro season and third with HC Lugano. He has notched seven points from the blueline thus far.
• Michal Gut (2019-22) started his second season as a pro strong, with already three goals and an assist in 15 games for HC Litvínov in the Czech league. Gut recorded seven points in 41 appearances in 2022-23.
• Patrick Bajkov (2013-18) has joined the Guildford Flames in the British EIHL, after beginning the season with Slovakia’s HK Nitra.
• Josh Winquist (2009-14) signed with Denmark’s Esbjerg Energy after splitting last season between the ECHL, Slovakian league and Swedish league.
• Martin Fasko-Rudas (2017-19) is in his fourth professional season in Europe. He currently skates for Bílí Tygri Liberec in Czechia, where he has nine points in 16 games to start the year.
• Kasper Puutio (2019-20) has a new team in the Finnish Liiga, signing with the Pelicans after spending the last two seasons with KalPa.
• Nikita Scherbak (2014-15) has three goals and 11 assists in his first season with Angers in France. This is his ninth pro season.
• Ondrej Vala (2017-18) is in his sixth pro season and fourth on the blueline with HC Dynamo Pardubice in Czechia. He has already set a career-best in goals with five through just 18 games played.
• Artyom Minulin (2018-19) is skating in his fifth year on defense for Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the KHL. He has two assists through 17 games played.

USPORTS

• Raphael Pelletier (2022-23) has taken his goal-scoring prowess to the University of Saskatchewan, where he currently has seven tallies with three assists in 10 games played.
• Jonny Lambos (2021-22) is in his sophomore year at the University of British Columbia. Through 12 games, he has one goal and four assists.
• Jacob Wright (2019-22) has also committed to the University of British Columbia. He has four assists in eight appearances thus far.
• Brendan Lee (2019-21) is in his freshman season at the University of Calgary. He has logged one goal and two assists in nine games.
• Dylan Anderson (2017-22) has joined Brendan Lee at the University of Calgary, where he has a goal and two assists in 11 games.
