2023-24 Player Profile: Dominik Rymon
Dominik Rymon spent most of his first season in North America on the sidelines, hampered by a myriad of injuries. The Czech import is back with Everett this year, ready to make an impact and fulfill his potential.
2022-23 in review
Originally selected 57th-overall in the 2022 CHL Import Draft, Rymon’s skill was evident right from the get-go in the 2022 preseason. He racked up four points in five games, utilizing his superb vision and creative playmaking ability at both even strength and on the powerplay. He leapt out of the gate in the regular season too, notching points in six of his first eight appearances including two goals and six assists.

An upper-body injury kept Rymon out of the lineup from late October into mid-December. He slotted in and out of the Tips’ lineup for another three weeks before his season finally came to a premature end on Jan. 7.
He finished with 11 points in 18 games played in the regular season. Despite the short stint, the winger from Karlovy Vary still felt he took strides forward overall.
“The hockey is faster [in the WHL],” Rymon commented at the conclusion of his rookie year. “I improved my skating and my shot, I improved my upper-body strength.”
National attention
Rymon spent the summer training with Czechia’s national team in preparation for the 2024 IIHF World Junior Championship. He participated in the Five Nations Tournament in Sweden at the end of August, where he logged four points in eight games.

He previously represented Czechia at the 2021 U18 World Junior Championship, as well as the 2021 Hlinka Gretzky Cup.
Rymon looks to be a key player on a Czechia team that earned a silver medal at the 2023 World Juniors tournament in Halifax.
Sky-high potential
A healthy Dominik Rymon is a game-changer for the Silvertips. He registered at least one point in all three preseason appearances this past week, including a two-goal outing on Sep. 8 vs Tri-City. His scoring touch is not the only thing he brings to the table- his aggressiveness both along the walls and on the forecheck brings a dynamic element to the Tips’ attack.
“He looks great,” general manager/head coach Dennis Williams said of Rymon following his first preseason game. “He came back with lots of energy… It’s been a long offseason for him, coming off an injury last year. But he’s playing with a lot of excitement right now, you can tell he’s put in a good hard summer. He led our team with his pace but also his grit.”
Rymon was a ranked skater by the NHL Central Scouting Service prior to last season. Entering his 19-year-old campaign, a strong performance could very well put him back on the map come NHL Draft season.
