Royals stumble against Seattle
Kent, WA. – The Victoria Royals were on the road tonight, taking on the Seattle Thunderbirds in their final south-of-the-border game of the regular season. A hard-fought defensive battle in Kent saw the Royals bested by the Thunderbirds 2-0.
Seattle opened the scoring with a power-play marker from Coster Dunn at the seven-minute mark of the first period. The Royals came close to a tying goal late in the frame, but the Thunderbirds led 1-0 heading into the first intermission.
The Thunderbirds doubled their lead with a goal from Matthew Gard at 6:59 of the second period, and they held the Royals scoreless through another period to lead 2-0 after 40 minutes of play.
A scoreless third period sealed the final score at 2-0 for Seattle.
