Recap: Royals (9) @ Americans (1) – February 7th, 2025
Kennewick, WA – The Royals and the Tri-City Americans faced off for their final regular season meeting tonight in Kennewick. With two goals from Cole Reschny, a four-point night by Nate Misskey and Justin Kipkie setting the Royals franchise record for career goals by a defenceman, the Royals defeated the Americans 9-1.
Cole Reschny opened the scoring 31 seconds into the game with an assist from Teydon Trembecky. Markus Loponen extended the lead with a power play goal assisted by Brayden Boehm and Nate Misskey at 14:02 of the frame. The Royals held the two-goal lead after 20 minutes of play.
Kenta Isogai gave the Royals a three-goal lead at 5:06 of the second period with his fourth goal in the past four games. Brayden Boehm then extended the lead just over five minutes later with assists from Brandon Lisowsky and Justin Kipkie. Escalus Burlock made it 5-0 with his second goal in consecutive games, assisted by Hayden Moore and Nolan Stewart. Just over three minutes later Teydon Trembecky notched a power play marker assisted by Cole Reschny and Justin Kipkie to give the Royals a 6-0 lead after two periods.
Justin Kipkie set the franchise record for most career goals by a Royals defenceman with his goal at 1:22 of the third period, and 33rd career goal. Cole Reschny’s second goal of the game extended the Royals lead to 8-0 at 9:47 of the frame. Charlie Elick put the Americans on the board at 15:04 of the third period with a power play goal. Escalus Burlock’s second goal of the game, and a power play marker, extended the Royals lead to 9-1 with just under 20 seconds to play.
