Recap: Royals (7) vs. Blazers (1) – January 18th, 2025
Victoria, B.C. — The Victoria Royals were back at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre for the second game of their back-to-back series against the Kamloops Blazers.
The Royals opened the scoring on a goal from Caleb Matthews, assisted by Justin Kipkie and Escalus Burlock, at 2:35 of the first period. Cole Reschny followed up with a goal at 4:52, with assists from Teydon Trembecky and Kenta Isogai, to extend the Royals’ lead to two. In the last three minutes of the first frame, Cole Reshny netted his second goal of the game, a power play marker assisted by Teydon Trembecky and Kenta Isogai, to bring the score to 3-0 for the Royals after 20 minutes of play.
Just over one minute into the second frame, Kenta Isogai scored assisted by Cole Reschny and Teydon Trembecky to give the Royals a four-goal lead. At 8:10 of the period, Brandon Lisowsky notched a power play marker assisted by Cole Reschny and Teydon Trembecky. Less than two minutes later, Brandon Lisowsky struck again with his second goal of the game, assisted by Markus Loponen, to give the Royals a six-goal lead going into the third period.
At 14:49 of the third period, Reggie Newman scored with assists from Nolan Stewart and Landon Young. The Blazers got on the board in the last three minutes of the frame with a power play goal from John Szabo, but the Royals held the 7-1 lead to win.

What’s Next
The Royals will hit the road for a game against the Seattle Thunderbirds this Friday, January 24th at the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington.
