Recap: Royals (6) vs. Chiefs (9) – Game 4, Round 2 – April 18th, 2025
Victoria, B.C.—Tonight, the Victoria Royals continued their second-round playoff series against the Spokane Chiefs with Game 4 at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre.
Nathan Mayes opened the scoring for Spokane at 7:41 of the first period. At 11:34, Owen Martin scored a goal, with Mathias Preston scoring just under a minute later. Rasmus Ekström scored at 14:01 before Andrew Cristall added a goal at 15:45, leaving the Chiefs with a 5-0 lead after 20 minutes of play.
At 11:22 of the second period, Teydon Trembecky netted a goal on the power play with Cole Reschny and Justin Kipkie assisting. Rasmus Ekström then scored his second goal of the game on a power play at 12:43, and followed with his third goal just 18 seconds later. In the period’s dying minute, Caleb Matthews netted a goal with assists from Escalus Burlock and Justin Kipkie, leaving the Chiefs with a 7-2 lead after two periods.
While shorthanded, Hayden Moore scored a goal at 2:18 of the third period as Justin Kipkie and Reggie Newman assisted. Just under a minute later, Mathias Preston scored his second goal of the game on the power play. Brandon Lisowsky then scored a power play goal at 5:22, assisted by Kenta Isogai and Cole Reschny. At 7:39, Teydon Trembecky scored his second goal of the game, with assists from Keaton Verhoeff and Cole Reschny, to cut the Chiefs lead down to three. Berkly Catton then scored at 10:06. During a power play at 15:41, Cole Reschny netted a goal with assists from Justin Kipkie and Kenta Isogai, leaving a final score of 9-6 for the Chiefs as the series sits even at 2-2.
