Recap: Royals (5) vs. Rockets (2) – February 5th, 2025
Victoria, B.C. — The Victoria Royals were back at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre tonight to host the Kelowna Rockets in the second game of their back-to-back series.
The first period saw a combined 28 shots, but as neither team could find the back of the net, the game was left scoreless after 20 minutes of play.
Hayden Moore opened the scoring for the Royals with an unassisted goal at 4:14 of the second period. Kenta Isogai extended the lead at 8:45 when he found the back of the net, assisted by Cole Reschny and Teydon Trembecky. Escalus Burlock followed with the Royals’ third unanswered goal at 10:09, with assists from Nolan Stewart and Hayden Moore. The Rockets got on the board with a goal from Hiroki Gojsic 14 seconds later, and Jakub Stancl followed up with another goal for the Rockets to bring the score to 3-2 going into the third period.
At 4:42 of the third frame, Brandon Lisowsky netted a power play goal, assisted by Teydon Trembecky, to bring the Royals’ lead back to two. Teydon Trembecky scored on the Rockets’ empty net at 18:25 of the third period, with an assist from Cole Reschny, to give the Royals the three-goal lead and secure the 5-2 win.

What’s Next
The Royals will travel across the border for their final US Division road trip of the regular season. They will play games against the Tri-City Americans and Spokane Chiefs on Friday and Saturday before returning home to host the Vancouver Giants in the Royals’ annual “Pink in the Rink” Hockey Fights Cancer game. Puck drops next Friday, February 14th at 7:05 PM.
