Kelowna, B.C. — The Victoria Royals faced off against the Kelowna Rockets for their final meeting of the season tonight at Prospera Place.
After a scoreless first period, Hiroki Gojsic put the Rockets on the board first at 5:13 of the second frame. Levi Benson extended the Rockets lead just over two minutes later. Cole Reschny cut their lead in half 40 seconds later, assisted by Teydon Trembecky and Kenta Isogai. Reschny then followed up with his second goal of the game on the power play to tie the score at two. Just over two minutes later, Brandon Lisowsky took the lead for the Royals, assisted by Hayden Moore and Nate Misskey. The Royals led 3-2 after 40 minutes.
Less than one minute into the third period Jakub Stancl tied the game for the Rockets with a power play marker. At 17:34 of the frame, Reggie Newman scored with assists from Justin Kipkie and Brandon Lisowsky to give the Royals the lead. Kenta Isogai sealed the game with an empty net goal as the Royals defeated the Rockets 5-3.

What’s Next
The Royals finish their B.C. Division Road trip in Prince George this weekend where they’ll face the Cougars on Friday March 21st and Saturday March 22nd to conclude their regular season. The team will return to Victoria to host the first two games of the first round of the WHL Playoffs on Friday March 28th and Saturday March 29th at the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre.
