Spokane, WA – The Victoria Royals continued their second-round series against the Spokane Chiefs at the Spokane Veterans Memorial Arena tonight.
Veteran forward Kenta Isogai opened the scoring for Victoria at 14:11 of the first period with a goal, assisted by Cole Reschny and Teydon Trembecky. The Royals led 1-0 after the first frame.
6:17 into the second period, Justin Kipkie scored on the power play to give the Royals a two goal lead, Kenta Isogai and Cole Reschny notched assists. Markus Loponen extended the lead to 3-0 with a goal on the power play at 10:48 of the frame, assisted by Nate Misskey and Keaton Verhoeff. In the final minute, Spokane got on the board as Berkly Catton netted a goal. The Royals led 3-1 after 40 minutes of play.
Brayden Boehm netted a goal on the power play at 6:03 of the third period to bring the Royals lead to 4-1, with assists from Reggie Newman and Keaton Verhoeff. Reggie Newman extended the Royals’ lead at 11:14 of the period, with assists from Nate Misskey and Brandon Lisowsky. The Victoria Royals defeated the Spokane Chiefs with a final score of 5-1 and even the second round series 1-1.
