Kamloops, B.C. — The Victoria Royals squared off against the Kamloops Blazers for the final time in their regular-season series on Tuesday night at the Sandman Centre.
Markus Loponen opened the scoring at 2:02 of the first period, assisted by Seth Fryer. The Blazers evened the game as Vit Zahejsky scored at 6:53. The Royals regained the lead as Brayden Boehm netted his nineteenth of the season at 8:13 of the first period, assisted by Markus Loponen and Nolan Stewart. Kenta Isogai extended the Royals’ lead to 3-1 at 10:32 on the power play, assisted by Justin Kipkie and Brayden Boehm. Josh Kelly brought the Blazers back within one, 3-2, at 16:52 of the first period. The Royals led the Blazers 3-2 after the first period.
In the second frame, the Royals further extended their lead to 4-2, as Cosmo Wilson scored at 7:22 of the second period, assisted by Brandon Lisowsky and Keaton Verhoeff. Nolan Stewart extended the Royals’ lead with an unassisted tally at 13:11 of the period. After two periods of play, the Royals led the Blazers 5-2.
In the final frame, Matteo Koci brought the Blazers within two, scoring at 2:40 of the third period, making it 5-3. The Victoria Royals held the 5-3 lead to defeat the Kamloops Blazers.

The Royals will stay on the road for the final three contests of the regular season. They will drive down the Okanagan Highway to Kelowna, where they will take on the Rockets on March 19 at 7:05 PM. They’ll then continue through Prince George, wrapping up their regular season campaign.
