Kamloops, B.C. – The Royals met the Blazers Saturday night for the second of back-to-back games after facing the Kelowna Rockets on Friday.
Cosmo Wilson put the Royals on the board first at 8:27 of the first period, assisted by Keaton Verhoeff and Wyatt Danyleyko. Nathan Behm tied the game for the Blazers on the power play at 18:22 of the period. Behm’s goal was assisted by Jordan Keller and Oren Shtrom. The teams ended the first period knotted at one.
Oren Shtrom gave the Blazers a 2-1 lead on the power play at 6:58 of the second period, assisted by Layton Feist and Nathan Behm. Nolan Stewart responded later in the period with his first WHL goal to tie the game at two, set up by Cole Reschny. The Royals and Blazers were tied at two after 40 minutes of play.
Tanner Scott gave the Royals the lead at 10:24 of the third period on a three-on-one rush, assisted by Reggie Newman. Cole Reschny then put the Royals ahead by two with a power play marker assisted by Teydon Trembecky and Nate Misskey at 15:22 of the third period. Reggie Newman scored an empty net goal at 19:20 of the third period, assisted by Nate Misskey and Cole Reschny to seal a 5-2 win for the Royals.
