Recap: Royals (4) @ Silvertips (3) – Shootout – January 4th, 2025
Everett, WA – The Royals faced the Everett Silvertips for the second and final game of their two-game home-and-home series on Saturday night at the Angel of the Winds Arena.
After a scoreless first period, Jesse Heslop put the Silvertips up 1-0, scoring at 1:28 of the second period and assisted by Beau Courtney. Andrew Petruk added to the Silvertips’s lead at the 5:43 mark of the period with assists from Brek Liske and Clarke Schaefer. The Silvertips held a two-goal lead after 40 minutes of play.
Teydon Trembecky answered back for the Royals, scoring on the power play at 1:24 of the third period, assisted by Kenta Isogai and Justin Kipkie. The Silvertips responded as Carter Bear scored at 7:51, assisted by Tyler MacKenzie. Hayden Moore brought the Royals within one again netting a power-play goal at 8:07 making it 3-2 Silvertips. Brayden Boehm and Nate Misskey notched assists on Moore’s powerplay marker. Keaton Verhoeff tied the game for the Royals by scoring at 14:11 of the third period. Teydon Trembecky and Hayden Moore recorded assists on Verhoeff’s game-tying goal. The game stayed deadlocked at 3-3 forcing overtime.
After a scoreless overtime, the teams met in a shootout. Victoria’s Kenta Isogai and Everett’s Landon DuPont exchanged goals, but in the fifth round, Hayden Moore broke the deadlock, putting the pressure on Everett. Defenceman Tarin Smith stepped up for the Silvertips but was denied by Jayden Kraus, lifting the Royals to a 4-3 win.
