Victoria, B.C. — The Victoria Royals faced off against the Vancouver Giants for the second of a home and home series on Saturday night.
Teydon Trembecky opened the scoring at 3:32 of the first period, assisted by Cole Reschny and Justin Kipkie. Kenta Isogai extended the Royals lead to two less than three minutes later with a power play goal, assisted by Justin Kipkie and Teydon Trembecky. The Royals took the 2-0 lead into the first intermission.
Teydon Trembecky gave the Royals a 3-0 lead at 1:06 of the second frame with his second goal of the night. Mazden Leslie put the Giants on the board at 6:20 of the frame, followed by a goal from Cameron Schmidt 30 seconds later to cut the Royals lead to one. Ty Halaburda evened the score at 14:04 of the period. The teams were deadlocked at three after 40 minutes of play.
Markus Loponen scored on the power play at 4:33 of the third period, assisted by Reggie Newman and Brayden Boehm. The Royals held the 4-3 lead to defeat the Giants.
