Recap: Royals (3) @ Hurricanes (2) – November 16th, 2024

Lethbridge, AB – On Saturday evening, the Royals and Hurricanes met for the first and only matchup this regular season at the VisitLethbridge.com Arena.

 

Teydon Trembecky had the lone goal of the first period, to give the Royals a 1-0 lead at 14:32. Reggie Newman had the lone assist on Trembecky’s goal. The Royals held onto the lead after 20 minutes of play.

 

In the second period, the Royals opened the scoring when Brayden Boehm scored on the power play at the 4:07 mark. The Hurricanes cut the lead in half with a goal from Logan Wormald at 9:13 of the second period. Brayden Edwards and Koen Cleaver notched assists on Wormald’s goal. The Royals regained their two-goal lead when Justin Kipkie scored at the 11:12 mark. With a goal tonight, Justin Kipkie has now scored his 100th WHL regular season point. Keaton Verhoeff and Teydon Trembecky assisted Kipkie’s power-play goal. The Royals led the Hurricanes 3-1 after two periods.

 

In the third period, Leo Braillard got hauled down resulting in a penalty shot, which he scored on. The Hurricanes trailed 3-2 with 17:23 remaining in the third period. The Victoria Royals held on to the lead defeating the Lethbridge Hurricanes with a final score of 3-2
