Portland, OR – This evening, the Victoria Royals and Portland Winterhawks clashed for the second of four meetings this season at the Veterans Memorial Coliseum.
After a scoreless first period, Josh Zakreski put the Winterhawks ahead 1-0, scoring at 7:48 of the second period, assisted by Tyson Jugnauth and Diego Buttazzoni. This one-goal advantage would hold for the rest of the period, with the Winterhawks leading the Royals 1-0 after 40 minutes of play.
In the final frame, Teydon Trembecky evened the game at one apiece, scoring at 7:08, assisted by Cole Reschny and Nate Misskey. The Royals took the lead when Kenta Isogai netted the go-ahead goal at 11:24 of the third period, with assists from Justin Kipkie and Cosmo Wilson. The Royals would hang on to their one-goal lead as Jayden Kraus stopped 24 out of 25 shots en route to a Royals victory. The Victoria Royals defeated the Portland Winterhawks with a final score of 2-1.
