Recap: Royals (1) vs. Chiefs (2) – Shootout – March 8th, 2025
Victoria, B.C. — The Victoria Royals returned to the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre tonight to close out their back-to-back series with the Spokane Chiefs in their final meeting of the regular season.
The Chiefs opened the scoring with a goal from Rasmus Ekstrom at 8:47 of the first period. Cole Reschny responded with the equalizer just over four minutes later, assisted by Kenta Isogai and Teydon Trembecky. The teams remained knotted at one after 20 minutes of play.
After the second and third periods remained scoreless, the game was forced into an overtime frame.
Neither team scored in overtime, sending the game to a shootout.
Shea Van Olm had the lone goal of the three-round shootout to bring the final score to 2-1 Chiefs.
