Spokane, WA – The Royals met the Chiefs tonight for their first matchup of the season in Spokane.
After a scoreless first period, Spokane got on the board first with a power play goal from Shea Van Olm at 5:36 of the second period. Less than four minutes later, Berkly Catton extended the lead to two with assists from Shea Van Olm and Brayden Crampton. Rasmus Ekström extended the Chiefs lead to 3-0, but just over one minute later Cole Reschny put the Royals on the board, converting on a 2-on-1 with Teydon Trembecky. Spokane held onto the 3-1 lead after 40 minutes of play.
Barkly Catton converted on the power play at 12:25 of the third period to re-gain Spokane’s three goal lead. Coco Armstrong made it 5-1 Chiefs at 4 on 4 with 37 seconds to play in the game. The Chiefs won the game by a final score of 5-1.

The Royals will finish off their three-game road trip tomorrow night in Portland before returning to the Save-on-Foods Memorial Centre for a mid-week double header against the Kelowna Rockets on Tuesday and Wednesday, February 4th and 5th. Puck drop is set for both nights at 7:05 PM.
