Ethan Eskit Named Goaltender of the Week
Victoria, B.C. – The Western Hockey League announced today that Ethan Eskit has been named WHL Goalie of the Week for the week ending Sept. 21st, 2025.
Eskit recorded a 26-save shutout in the Royals home opener against the expansion Penticton Vees, kicking off the 2025-26 campaign with a 1.000 save-percentage and a 0.00 goals-against-average in a 5-0 win. The shutout marked his third in the Western Hockey League. Eskit, hailing from Calgary, A.B., was acquired by the Royals in a trade with the Brandon Wheat Kings in the offseason.
Eskit now leads the league in save-percentage and goals-against-average to start the season as the Royals head towards their first home-and-home series of the season against the Vancouver Giants, with the team being on the road Friday, Sept. 28th and back at the Save-On-Foods Memorial Centre on Saturday, Sept. 29th.
