Scratches make girl’s night extra special
A normal night for scratched players involves watching the game from the stands, but last night’s game was anything but normal for Cayde Augustine and Michael Farren.
While the two were in the crowd they learned of a young girl just one section over that has been having some health problems recently; the two decided that they had to make her night extra special.
Nine-year-old Madeleine Caroll has been in and out of the Children’s Hospital Vancouver and Kelowna since June of this year with kidney troubles. She had been feeling much better over the last week, to celebrate her and her grandfather attended last night’s Rockets game.
Augustine and Farren went down to the team store and purchased a jersey for Madeleine and signed it for her. During the third period, the two players took her and her grandfather on a tour of the Rockets dressing room.
At the end of the night, Madeleine was able to celebrate a Rockets win as the Rockets shutout the Victoria Royals 2-0.
