Rockets select Marek Rocak 43rd overall in the 2022 CHL Import Draft
The Kelowna Rockets, with their first-round selection, 43rd overall in the 2022 CHL Import Draft, have selected defenceman Marek Rocak.
Rocak, 17, spent the majority of last season with HC Ocelari Trinec U20 (CzechU20), recording ten points (4G, 6A) 18 penalty minutes, and a +20 plus/minus rating in 33 games. He posted another four points (2G, 2A) through ten playoff games with HC Ocelari Trinec U20.
The 5’10”, 168-pound right-shot defender also appeared in 11 games for HC Ocelari Trinec U17 (Czechia U17) this past season, registering 12 points (2G, 10A), six penalty minutes and a +22 plus-minus rating.
Rocak (2005) isn’t eligible until the 2023 NHL Draft.
The Rockets passed on their second-round pick, forward Gabriel Szturc will return to Kelowna for the 2022-23 season.
