Rockets loan Sean Comrie to Spruce Grove Saints
The Kelowna Rockets have loaned defenceman Sean Comrie to the Spruce Grove Saints of the Alberta Junior Hockey League through December 20, 2020.
Comrie, 20, appeared in 35 games for the Rockets during the 2019-20 season, posting 17 points (2G, 14A) and 33 penalty minutes.
His season was cut short last year due to a shoulder injury that required surgery.
The Edmonton, AB product was originally drafted by the Brandon Wheat Kings 44th overall at the 2015 Bantam Draft. The Rockets acquired Comrie’s rights from the Wheat Kings at the 2019 WHL Bantam Draft.
WHL roster players who have been granted temporary transfers will be permitted to play at the Junior A, Junior B, or Under-18 level through mid-December with WHL Training Camps beginning following the Christmas break.
The 2020-21 WHL Regular Season is scheduled to start Friday, January 8, 2021. The WHL continues to work with each of the Governments and Health Authorities in the Provinces and States in Western Canada and the U.S. Pacific Northwest, respectively, on obtaining the necessary approvals to commence play.
