The Rockets hit the ice on Monday for practice following a day off on Sunday.
“We’ve had a week of training camp and the two games this past weekend, it’s nice to have a day away from the rink and get some fresh air. We’re back to work today (Monday) and are ready to learn,” said Kelowna Rockets head coach Kris Mallette.

Rockets last games
Kelowna opened their preseason schedule with a 5-2 over the Blazers on Friday night in Kamloops. Rockets forward Andrew Cristall netted a hat-trick, while Turner McMillen and Scott Cousins were the other Kelowna skaters to find the back of the net.
The Rockets then fell to the Kamloops Blazers 6-5 in overtime on Saturday night at Prospera Place. Tied at one after the first period of play, the Blazers and Rockets exploded with eight goals between the two in the second period. After a quiet third period that had no scoring, the Blazers ended things just 45 seconds into three-on-three overtime. Four Rockets players posted multi-point nights, with forwards Rilen Kovacevic and Nolan Flamand each posting three points on the night.
Jari Kykkanen started both games for the Rockets, stopping 31 of the 33 shots he faced on Friday and 39 of the 45 shots fired on him on Saturday.
Rockets roster updates
The Rockets did not make any roster moves after Saturday’s game and continue to carry 26 players on their roster. Not included in that number are netminder Talyn Boyko (New York Rangers) and Colton Dach (Chicago) who reported directly to NHL camps.
The Rockets will be without defenceman Noah Dorey (Edmonton) and goaltender Jari Kykkanen (Florida), the duo have also departed for NHL camps after earning invites as undrafted players.
