Payworks Recap: Cristall’s overtime winner lifts Rockets past Blazers

The Kelowna Rockets secured their 14th victory of the season with a come from behind 2-1 overtime victory over the Kamloops Blazers on Tuesday night in Kamloops, BC.
Playing their first game since the holiday break, Talyn Boyko made 38 saves on 39 shots to pick up his ninth win of the campaign.
Falling behind early 11:14 into the game on a goal from Quinn Schmiemann (9), the Rockets waited until 10 seconds were on the clock in regulation to tie the game. With the Rockets net empty, Mark Liwiski (6) drove to the net force extra time.
While in overtime Andrew Cristall (9) cashed in on a wrap-around goal to push Kelowna past the Blazers 2:23 into the extra frame.
Both teams went zero-for-two on the powerplay.
Kamloops outshot Kelowna 39-30.
The two won’t have to wait long to face one another, the rematch is set for tomorrow night at 7:05 p.m. at Prospera Place.
