iSight Optometry Recap: Rockets Fall 5–3 to Vees on the Road
The Kelowna Rockets wrapped up their weekend with a 5–3 loss to the Penticton Vees on Saturday night at the South Okanagan Events Centre.
GAME SUMMARY
Kelowna built an early lead, striking twice in the opening frame. Owen Folstrom (2) opened the scoring on the power play with a deflection in front off a point shot from Mazden Leslie, while Kalder Varga collected the secondary assist. Moments later, Dawson Gerwing (1) made it 2–0, driving to the net and one-timing a feed from Kanjyu Gojsic below the goal line.
Penticton battled back in the second period, tying the game 2–2 before Tomas Poletin (5) restored the Rockets lead, redirecting a rebound in tight off his skates after a chance from Carson Wetsch. However, the Vees controlled the third period, scoring three unanswered goals, including an empty-netter, to take the 5–3 win.
