Former Rocket named ECHL’s 2018-19 CCM/ECHL Most Valuable Player
Rockets Alumni, Jesse Schultz added some hardware to his collection Friday as the ECHL selected the forward as their CCM ECHL Most Valuable Player for 2018-19.
Schultz, led the ECHL in scoring with 80 points (22G, 58A), he also lead the league in assists. Last week he was named to the All-ECHL First Team.
The Strasbourg, Sask. product played for Kelowna during the 2001/2002 and 2002/2003 campaigns, during that time he had 168 points (81G, 87A) in 145 regular season games and 40 (17G, 23A) points in 24 playoff games. He helped the Rockets capture the 2003 WHL Championship, while leading the team in scoring with 104 points.
Schultz and the Cincinnati Cyclones begin their quest for the Kelly Cup tonight against the Kalamazoo Wings.
