After playing the first three games of their eight-game season series against the Victoria Royals in Kelowna, the Rockets will travel to Victoria for their first two road games of the season series.
With Monday being the holiday, puck drop is set for 3:05 pm, while the two will meet up again on Tuesday night at 7:05 pm.
TRYING TO END THE STREAK
The Rockets winless streak grew to six on Friday with a 2-1 loss to the Everett Silvertips. Andrew Cristall, who took a puck up high in Tuesday’s game against Tri-City, missed the game. Jari Kykkanen and Kayden Lognley also missed the game due to injuries. Marcus Pacheco, who has been out since training camp with a lower-body injury, took warm-ups as a game-time decision but did not dress for the game. Kelowna goaltender Jake Pilon was named the game’s third star after stopping 37 of the 39 shots he faced.
ROYALS NEW BENCH BOSS
James Patrick will face the Rockets for the first time as the new head coach of the Victoria Royals. The Royals announced on November 6 that Patrick was replacing Royals longtime coach Dan Price. Patrick was most recently with the Winnipeg/Kootenay ICE franchise for the previous six seasons before joining the Royals in August as their Director of Player Development.
VICTORIA’S WEEKEND SPLIT
The Royals picked up their first win with Patrick behind the bench on Friday, scoring three unanswered goals to take down the Seattle Thunderbirds 3-2 on the island. The two then faced off in Kent the next night, where Seattle claimed a 5-4 win.
THE LAST TIME THESE TWO MET
VICTORIA
In their latest meeting on November 4, the Kelowna Rockets fell 2-1 to the Victoria Royals at Prospera Place.
