A letter from Michael Cicek
Dear Kelowna,
When I first got traded to Kelowna in the summer of 2023, I didn’t know what to expect. Going to a new team and not knowing anyone can be a stressful situation for anybody. Little did I know, getting traded here was the best thing for me to grow as a hockey player, and as a person.
To the Hamilton family,
Thank you for giving me the opportunity to showcase my passion in the beautiful city of Kelowna. You’ve been nothing but professional and I just want to thank you for treating me with respect and compassion, I truly appreciate it.
To my coaches and staff,
Thank you for guiding me and providing me with knowledge, skill, and growth. I’ll never forget the culture we lived by, and how you all were great role models for us to follow. We’ve built long lasting relationships and I’m thankful I got to work with you all.
To the fans,
Thank you for sticking with us through the ups and downs, and everything in between. This is one tough fanbase and your support and love are felt all throughout our organization. I’ll never forget the cheers and screams echoing in Prospera Place when we came onto the ice and throughout the game.
To my teammates,
I’m forever thankful that you guys welcomed me with open arms. I loved going to work with you boys every single day and I’ll never forget the long bus trips, inside jokes, and hard-fought wins. I know all of you have bright futures in wherever life takes you. The relationships we’ve built will last a lifetime, and I hold a special place in my heart for you all.
To my billets,
Thank you, Jeff and Carly Joyce. You were loving, caring, supportive, and understood me as a person. Thank you for making my home away from home as comfortable as possible, I love you both and I’m grateful I ended up with you two.
Thank you, Kelowna!
