Third period costly as Rebels fall to Tigers
MEDICINE HAT – The Red Deer Rebels kept pace with the Medicine Hat Tigers through two periods Friday night before falling 8-4 at Co-op Place.
The Tigers scored four unanswered goals in the final frame after the Rebels had pulled within a goal in the opening seconds of the period.
Red Deer remains in eighth place in the WHL Eastern Conference, one point ahead of Moose Jaw, as they get ready to host Prince Albert on Saturday.

How it Happened:
Shaeffer Gordon-Carroll scooped up a loose puck behind the Rebels net and slid it to Markus Ruck, who buried it past Peyton Shore just 5:48 into the first period, giving Medicine Hat an early 1-0 lead.
Noah Davidson struck on an early second period breakaway to make it 2-0.
The Rebels found an answer as Aleksey Chichkin fired a shot on net, and Kohen Lodge redirected it past Carter Casey to get Red Deer on the board.

But the Tigers took control, with Veeti Vaisanen, Cam Parr, and Bryce Pickford each finding the back of the net to make it 7-3. Shore was relieved for the night as Matthew Kondro stepped into the crease.
Shortly after, Kade Stengrim added another for Medicine Hat.
Late game effort saw the Rebels powerplay click as Kalder Varga deflected Beckett Hamilton’s shot from the point, closing out the scoring 8-4.
