Red Deer drop Family Day game in Medicine Hat
MEDICINE HAT – It was a rough end to an otherwise exciting long weekend for the Red Deer Rebels as they fell 10-1 to the Medicine Hat Tigers at Co-op Place on Monday.
Talon Brigley provided the lone bright spot for Red Deer, burying the Rebels’ only goal of the afternoon.
With the result, the Rebels move to 21-28-2-2 on the season and finish the weekend in eight place in the WHL Eastern Conference, one point back of the Regina Pats and one ahead of the Moose Jaw Warriors.

How it Happened:
The Tigers wasted little time in opening up a 4-0 lead in the opening six minutes and 20 seconds of the first period.
Medicine Hat made it 5-0 in period two before the Rebels found a spark on the powerplay thanks to birthday boy, Talon Brigley. After Kalder Varga banked a puck off the end boards, Brigley pounced and slid it into the open cage, past Jordan Switzer to put Red Deer on the board.

Medicine Hat struck three more times on the man advantage in the middle frame and added two more goals in period three.
Shore turned aside 28 shots in the Rebels crease, while Switzer faced 23 at the other end.
Red Deer converted once on three opportunities, while Medicine Hat capitalized four times on five chances.
