Rebels to battle Blades in round two
The Red Deer Rebels will battle the Saskatoon Blades in round two of the 2023 WHL Playoffs presented by Nutrien.
Game one of the Eastern Conference Semifinals series goes Friday, April 14 at 7 p.m. MT at SaskTel Centre in Saskatoon. Game two goes Sunday, April 16 at 4 p.m. also at SaskTel Centre.
The Rebels host games three and four of the series on Tuesday, April 18 and Wednesday, April 19 at the Peavey Mart Centrium. Both games start at 7 p.m.

Red Deer was 1-2-1-0 versus Saskatoon during the 2022-23 WHL Regular Season, going 1-0-1-0 at the Peavey Mart Centrium and 0-2-0-0 at SaskTel Centre. Kai Uchacz led all Rebels players with four points versus the Blades (2G, 2A) while Trevor Wong led Saskatoon with eight points (3G, 5A) versus Red Deer. When it comes to special teams, Red Deer was (5/17) 29.4% on the power play while Saskatoon was (7/24) 29.2%.
This marks the just the third playoff series between Red Deer and Saskatoon. The Blades won both of the previous series in 1993 and 2010.
