Prince George tied the game up at 1-1 on a second-period power play, as Brock Souch tipped a shot past Matthew Kondro with 12:26 to play in the middle frame.
The Cougars struck again two minutes later as top NHL Draft prospect Carson Carels snapped home a shot during 4-on-4 play, taking a 2-1 lead with 10:25 to play in the period.
Poul Andersen tied it up for the Rebels 15:29 into the second, as he floated through the front of the net and deflected a point shot from Aleksey Chichkin for his 16th of the campaign.
Late in the third period, Patrick Sopiarz took a shot from the right slot, and the puck took a deflection in front and found the back of the net to give the Rebels a 3-2 lead with just 3:03 to play. The power play goal was initially credited to Yaremko, but replay showed it went in off a Cougars defender in front. Sopiarz, acquired by the Rebels from the Cougars in December, netted the eventual game winner in his first game back in Prince George.
