Rebels lose 5-2 in Kamloops
KAMLOOPS, BC – It was déjà vu all over again for the Red Deer Rebels Wednesday night in Kamloops.
For the third-straight game they gave up a goal on their opponent’s opening shot of the game and couldn’t catch up as the Rebels fell 5-2 to the Kamloops Blazers in game three of their B.C. road trip.
Owen DeWitt and Patrick Sopiarz scored for the Rebels, who suffered their fourth-straight loss as they turn their attention to a Saturday night game in Victoria.
STATS STORY
Red Deer native Cooper Moore scored on the first Blazers shot of the game to make it 1-0 just over three minutes into the game.
Ty Bonkowski made it 2-0 when he ripped a shot past Rebels goalie Matthew Kondro early in period two.
Owen DeWitt, playing in front of plenty of friends and family from his hometown of Sicamous, got the Rebels on the board with his first WHL goal as he scooped the puck out of a scramble in the slot and fired it past Blazers netminder Logan Edmonstone.

A mere 1:50 after that was when Patrick Sopiarz went bar down on Edmonstone for his third goal in his last two games. It was a 3-2 game through two periods.
