Rebels down Hurricanes 4-2 for first win of season
RED DEER – The Red Deer Rebels came out strong against the Lethbridge Hurricanes on Saturday night, as Ty Coupland and Owen Shadrick scored in the opening period. Lethbridge would keep the game close, but it was the Rebels’ persistent effort in the third period that pushed them over the top by a score of 4-2.
“I was I was happy with it. There was some things that wasn’t perfect, but hockey isn’t a perfect game. But I love the effort, I love the togetherness, and I just loved how they stayed with it,” said Rebels head coach Marc Habscheid following his first win with the club.
HOW IT HAPPENED
The Rebels opened the scoring as Ty Coupland registered his first of the season just six minutes into the opening frame. Coupland snuck to the bottom of the faceoff circle and found the top corner on a pass from down low from Keith McInnis.
