Rebels battle hard in 3-1 loss to Hurricanes
it was a case of “deja vu all over again” for the Red Deer Rebels as once again, they outplayed the Lethbridge Hurricanes much of the game at even strength.
Unfortunately, special teams were once again the difference as two power play goals lifted the Hurricanes to a 3-1 win over the Rebels Wednesday at the Visitlethbridge.com Arena.
Matthew Gard was the lone goal scorer for the Rebels, while Peyton Shore faced 28 shots.
Lethbridge ends the season series between the two clubs with seven wins and a loss.
STATS STORY

HOW IT HAPPENED
Just shy of six minutes into the game and with seconds remaining on a Lethbridge power play, Kash Andresen tapped in a loose puck for a 1-0 Hurricanes lead.
Just past the midway mark in the second period, Lethbridge’s Caden Price sent a puck past Shore for a 2-0 lead.
With 1:31 left in the middle frame, the Hurricanes extended their lead as Brayden Yager added another powerplay goal.
Red Deer would Cleaver once in the third period. Emerging from behind the net, Ollie Josephson connected with Matthew Gard out front, who sent his own rebound in for his team leading 12th goal of the season.
