MacSwain’s four-pointer leads Rebels in win over Wheat Kings
BRANDON – The Red Deer Rebels turned a Remembrance Day matchup into a statement win on the road, rallying past the Brandon Wheat Kings for a 7-4 victory Tuesday afternoon.
It was a big game for rookie Landon MacSwain as the Anchorage, Alaska freshman scored the game winner and added three assists. Samuel Drancak, meantime, scored in a sixth-straight game.
The Rebels head home having earned five of a possible six points from their three-game trip out east.
Stats Story
Landon MacSwain (RD) – 1 goal, 3 assists
Joby Baumuller (BDN) – 3 goals
Beckett Hamilton (RD) – 2 goals
Carter Klippenstein (BDN) – 3 assists
Jaxon Fuder (RD) – 2 assists
Peyton Shore (RD) – 37 saves, win
How it Happened
Brandon opened the scoring when Joby Baumuller jumped on a loose puck in front of Peyton Shore’s crease and tucked it in for the early lead.
Red Deer answered with a beauty when Nolan Schmidt threaded a perfect pass to Matus Lisy, who fired home the equalizer from the high slot.

The momentum then swung back Brandon’s way as Baumuller took over, scoring twice more to complete his hat trick and put the Wheat Kings up 3–2.
From that point on, it was all Rebels.
With 6.9 seconds left in the second, on the power play, Drancak buried his sixth goal in six games amid heavy traffic in front to tie the game 3-3.

Already with three assists to his name, Landon MacSwain delivered the eventual game-winner, capitalizing after Brandon goaltender Jayden Kraus misplayed the puck behind his net, leaving Kohen Lodge to give MacSwain a wide-open net for Red Deer’s fifth goal.

The Wheat Kings cut into the lead late when Brady Turko scored with Brandon’s net empty for an extra attacker. But the Rebels slammed the door shut from there and Talon Brigley and Beckett Hamilton each hit the empty net to secure the 7-4 victory.
Shore, a last-minute starter with Matthew Kondro down with illness, was outstanding in stopping 37 shots to earn the win. Kraus turned aside 31 for Brandon.
The Rebels’ special teams came up big, shutting down Brandon’s top-ranked power play on all three opportunities and striking once out of three on their own advantages.
