Josephson signs amateur try-out contract with Coachella Valley Firebirds
RED DEER – Red Deer Rebels captain Ollie Josephson has signed an amateur try-out contract with the Coachella Valley Firebirds – the American Hockey League affiliate of the Seattle Kraken. The contract runs through the end of the 2024-25 season.
Josephson was selected by Seattle in round four, 105th overall at the 2024 NHL Draft in Las Vegas.
The 18-year-old centre from Victoria, BC just wrapped up his third season with the Rebels with 35 points in 48 games. Josephson recorded his first career hat trick in a five-point performance March 11 at Moose Jaw. He was again one of the top faceoff winners in the league with a 56.7 percent success rate. Josephson was named co-winner of the Rebels’ Most Valuable Player Award for 2024-25.
Josephson has 102 points in 185 regular season games with the Rebels after being selected fifth overall by the club at the 2021 WHL Prospects Draft.
