Career best games for two Red Deer Rebels stars powered them to a 6-4 win Tuesday night in Moose Jaw to complete a season sweep of the Warriors.
Red Deer fought back after trailing 4-1 late in the first period led by Ollie Josephson’s first career hat trick. He and Kalan Lind each finished with five points on the night.

Kalan Lind (RD) – 2 goals, 3 assists
Riley Thorpe (MJ) – 2 goals, 1 assist

HOW IT HAPPENED
Riley Thorpe opened the scoring for Moose Jaw, but Red Deer tied the game just over a minute later thanks to Keaton Dowhaniuk’s blue-line bomb for his first goal with the Rebels against the team he was acquired from.
Ethan Hughes responded quickly for Moose Jaw, before back-to-back powerplay goals for the Warriors from Thorpe and Krzysztof Macias extended the home team’s lead to 4-1.
With 44 seconds left in the first, though, Red Deer got one back, with Kalan Lind’s strong net drive forcing the puck home to make it 4-2 through one period of play.

It was the Red Deer powerplay that would strike next, as barely three-and-a-half minutes into the second period, Ollie Josephson’s wrist shot from the top of the left point found its way home to pull the Rebels back within one.

Another power move around the net from Kalan Lind brought Red Deer back to level terms, with Lind slamming home a wrap-around on his opportunity at the side of the net with under four to play in the second.
Josephson and Lind would both click again on the game-winner in the third period, with Lind hitting Josephson with a stretch pass that sprung him on a breakaway that would end with the captain’s second goal of the game and a 5-4 Rebels lead.
